Initially formed in 1970 as "Richard West", the firm carried out a major expansion in 1997 when it became "Richard West Freeman Christofi" - or "Rwfc".

Subsequently the firm grew to be one of the larger legal firms in east London and in 2006 celebrated the opening offices in the City of London .
